Brought High-Power PEMF to the Navy & Marine Corps
Dr. Larry Basch has spent more than three decades helping people move and feel better โ from busy multi-discipline clinics in Chicago to the front lines of military sports medicine. He’s a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army Illinois National Guard, and he recently retired after a full career as a credentialed U.S. Navy healthcare provider.
In 2009, the Navy selected Dr. Basch to build the first full-time chiropractic clinic inside the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia. From there, he went on to direct chiropractic care within the Orthopedic Department at Camp Pendleton’s Naval Hospital, and later joined the U.S. Marine Corps School of Infantry Sports Medicine Clinic, where he treated Marine Special Forces and Recon Marines for over a decade โ including volunteering every year at the Recon Challenge.
In 2020, after four years of personal effort, Dr. Basch became the first person to bring high-power PEMF therapy into use within the Navy and Marine Corps โ the same category of technology behind the equipment on this site. He retired from military practice in March 2025.
What his training covers, in plain terms: Dr. Basch is trained in spinal and joint adjustment, non-surgical spinal decompression, cold and Class IV laser therapy, PEMF therapy, whole-body vibration, and soft-tissue treatment methods โ along with nutrition and wellness counseling to support recovery from every angle.
Over his career, Dr. Basch has treated thousands of patients of every age โ from infants to seniors โ including professional and semi-professional athletes, law enforcement, and military service members with complex, unique conditions. He’s also spent time reviewing treatment plans nationally for a major chiropractic HMO, teaching continuing education courses approved by the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and mentoring other providers on evidence-based care.
Today, Dr. Basch’s private practice is an approved Veterans clinic, and he continues to bring the same standards he held in military medicine to every person he works with โ including everyone who uses the equipment on this site.
What Those Letters Actually Mean
Credentials can look like alphabet soup. Here’s what Dr. Basch’s certifications really stand for.
Board-certified to diagnose and treat sports injuries โ a credential held by only a small group of chiropractors nationwide.
Advanced training specifically in treating hands, feet, and joints โ not just the spine.
An internationally recognized certificate in sports chiropractic care, held by fewer than 1,000 chiropractors worldwide.
Certified to guide nutrition and wellness choices that support the body’s natural recovery process.
Certified to safely operate advanced laser therapy equipment for pain and tissue recovery.
Doctor of Chiropractic โ the same medical-adjacent doctoral degree held by every licensed chiropractor.

8 Years, Camp Pendleton Military Personnel
Jack Mรกrquez has spent nearly three decades helping people recover from injury and get back to doing what they love โ from professional athletes to United States Marines. Since November 2011, Jack has worked hand-in-hand with Dr. Basch as a Certified Athletic Trainer at the Camp Pendleton SMART Clinic, where he evaluates, treats, and rehabilitates injuries sustained during rigorous military training.
Jack runs the clinic’s Back School program and has helped countless Marines recover from stress fractures and other training injuries, working closely with physicians to build safe, effective recovery plans. Before Camp Pendleton, he spent years as a Worksite Injury Prevention Specialist, designing wellness and conditioning programs to help people avoid injury in the first place โ not just recover from it.
Earlier in his career, Jack served as Head Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach for the New York Centaurs professional soccer team, and managed a team of over twenty fitness trainers as Fitness Manager at the New York Sports Club. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Athletic Training from Kean University, graduating Cum Laude.
Why that matters for your equipment: Jack has spent his career using recovery technology โ including PEMF therapy โ as part of real rehabilitation plans for people with demanding, physical lives. That hands-on, practical experience is exactly what shapes the guidance you’ll get on choosing the right device, using it safely, and building it into a routine that actually fits your day.
Backgrounds You Can Trust
Between them, Dr. Basch and Jack have spent decades working inside some of the most demanding medical and athletic environments in the country.
